Another significant 150TH Gettysburg Anniversary event for this summer has just been announced this week. Great Country 107.7 WGTY and Gettysburg Country Music Tribute LLC have announced a country music patriotic celebration on July 12 & 13. The event "150TH Gettysburg Country Music Tribute Thunder In The Sky" promises to be one of the most unique, dazzling and patriotic music events ever held in this area. The concert will feature three main acts on Friday evening and four main acts on Saturday. Each evening the last act will conclude with a magnificent integrated patriotic fireworks and laser show. Zambelli Fireworks, called the first family of fireworks in the United States, will be producing and executing this grand fireworks display. Lasertainment will be providing the highly charged patriotic laser show never seen in this area.

There will be seven performers over the two day period. Multi-hitmaker and military veteran Craig Morgan headlines Friday's lineup. Morgan’s been a consistent presence on the country charts for years. His hits include Redneck Yacht Club, International Harvester, That’s What I Love About Sunday, and dozens more. Emerson Drive, one of the most successful country bands in history to emerge from Canada, will fill the middle slot on Friday. Their hits include Moments, I Should Be Sleeping, Fall Into Me, among others. Sarah Darling, one of the hot new female faces in country, opens up Friday’s festivities.

Saturday's lineup is headlined by Montgomery Gentry, one of the most successful country duo’s of all time. They’ve released dozens of hit singles and most of their albums have gone gold, platinum, or multi-platinum. Joining Montgomery Gentry on Saturday are rising country stars Brett Eldredge and Craig Campbell. Eldredge’s hits include Raymond, It Ain't Gotta Be Love and his current single Don't Ya. Campbell's hits include Family Man, Fish, When I Get It, and his current song Out Of My Head. Local sensation Brittany Opperman will open up the festivities on Saturday.

The primary event beneficiary will be the SGT MAC Foundation & National Wreath Project founded in 2006 to honor fallen Gettysburg Marine Sgt. Eric McColley. The foundation is 100% volunteer with zero dollars spent on administrative expense. Besides providing continuing education scholarships for worthy high school students, the foundation with help from hundreds of volunteers annually assembles and places Christmas wreaths on thousands of graves at Gettysburg and Quantico National Cemeteries. The 150TH Gettysburg Country Music Tribute -Thunder In The Sky will be held at the Redding Farm at 1085 Table Rock Road, 3 miles north of Gettysburg. Gates will open at 5PM on Friday evening July 12 and 2PM on Saturday afternoon July 13. Beside the exciting performances, there will be a variety of other concert activities including a mechanical bull area, autograph and back stage opportunities, karaoke, and a variety of drawings and prizes with Great Country 107.7 on air personality Scott Donato emceeing the show.
